English For Lawyers
This course is designed for lawyers and legal professionals who are required to use English in their work environment. We aim to equip students with the necessary skills to communicate effectively with both colleagues and clients.
The programme focuses on communication skills and the formal register required within the legal profession, as well as specific legal terminology. Course content can be tailored to specific needs and students also have the possibility of preparing for and taking the internationally recognised TOLES examination at Berlitz Manchester.
15, 20 or 25 hours per week
Any Monday (except bank holidays)
Minimum 2 weeks
Students from B2 level who work in the legal profession
Standard (15 hours a week), Intensive (20 hours a week) or Super-intensive (25 hours a week). This programme is also available as a pathway module and can be combined with General English or IELTS preparation.
Course content includes areas such as:
• Writing contracts
• Written correspondence
• Dealing with clients
• International law
• Criminal law
Students require a minimum General English level of B2.
Our English for Lawyers syllabus has been carefully designed and structured to ensure students make maximum progress throughout their course. A range of specific Legal English course books are used over the programme, along with additional material to ensure that students develop their language skills and reach the required standard.
