COURSE OVERVIEW

English For Petroleum Engineering

This course is designed to meet the needs of personnel working at any level within the increasingly international Oil & Gas industry. We aim to equip students with the necessary skills to communicate in day-to-day activities on a wide range of topics from technical concepts and specialised data presentation to general discussion of upstream and downstream operations.

Our programmes are delivered by Berlitz language instructors, and also incorporate sessions supported by lecturers from the Petroleum faculty of our sister-college – International Business College Manchester. The training course is designed to meet the particular needs of sector professionals, and can be tailored to different groups such as senior executives or maintenance engineering staff. Lesson content includes a wide range of topics, including technical concepts, specialised data presentation and problem solving.

Ideal For

Students working in the oil & gas industry who wish to improve their English language skills

Standard (15 hours a week), Intensive (20 hours a week) or Super-intensive (25 hours a week). This programme is also available as a pathway module and can be combined with General English or IELTS preparation.

•Production & delivery
•Safety

Students require a minimum General English level of B1.

Our English for Petroleum Engineering syllabus has been carefully designed and structured to ensure students make maximum progress throughout their course. A range of specific English for Oil & Gas course books are used over the programme, along with additional material to ensure that students develop their language skills and reach the required standard.
