This course aims to equip qualified or trainee doctors with the necessary communication skills to work effectively and confidently within an English-speaking healthcare environment.
Healthcare professionals will be able to speak with confidence in the field of medicine with our English for Doctors programme. Lesson content focuses on the specific vocabulary and communication skills required by doctors and medical professionals in a variety of contexts, with an emphasis on practical application.
This programme is also available as a pathway module and can be combined with General English or IELTS preparation.

Medical terminology
Consultations
Outlining treatments
Putting patients at ease
Completing medical documents
Introduction to British/Irish healthcare system
Listening strategies
Showing empathy
Students require a minimum General English level of B1.
Our English for Doctors syllabus has been carefully designed and structured to ensure students make maximum progress throughout their course. A range of specific Medical English course books are used over the programme, along with additional material to ensure that students develop their language skills and reach the required standard.
