TEACHER TRAINING

The Overseas Teachers Refresher course is aimed at English teachers who wish to improve or brush up their knowledge of and skills in English, and who also wish to learn the latest teaching techniques.
The programme provides a language enrichment component designed to improve the participants’ knowledge and use of English, including vocabulary, grammatical knowledge, functional knowledge and pronunciation. There is a focus on current methodologies and practical teaching skills, with material taken from the Cambridge TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) preparation course. Students have the option to take the TKT exam at the end of the course in order to obtain an official Cambridge certificate.

New teachers or teachers seeking a refresher course
Intensive (20 hours a week). This programme is also available as a pathway module and can be combined with General English.
Course content includes areas such as:
• Modern teaching methodologies
• Teaching skills(reading, writing, listening, speaking)
• Teaching grammar and pronunciation
• Classroom management
• Teacher development
Participants will need to have a minimum of Upper intermediate (CEFR B2) or higher.
Our Teacher Training programme uses a range of high quality materials, including books created for the Cambridge TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) preparation course. The syllabus can be tailored to individual or group needs.
